We the Working Journalists gathered here from all over the State of Andhra Pradesh solemnly declare that the objects of the profession of Journalism are inextricably linked to the broad social objectives as laid down in the preamble and the directive principles of our constitution. To this end, we pledge to work towards the achievement of the social order in which justice, economic and political, shall inform all the institutional of our Democratic Republic.
We promise to accomplish our task by reflecting faithfully and truthfully the urges and aspirations of our people, specially the underprivileged sections of our society, and shall report with understanding and sympathy their sustained struggles for better life.
We firmly believe that it is our basic duty to make the people aware of their absolute right to know and keep always this in our professional endeavor even while ceaselessly striving to enhance our competence and with steadfast devotion to social commitment thereby ensuring prestige and credibility of our profession.
We pledge to build ourselves ever vigilant sentinels of the freedom of the press, which in itself is the freedom of the citizen, and guard it from the onslaughts of various vested interests.
