Hyderabad: The Indian Journalists Union (IJU) and Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) welcome the decision of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to reappoint Mr. Devulapalli Amar as Chairman of Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh for another two-year term. We feel that the Government honoured the working journalists movement by reposing faith in him and reappointing him for unprecedented second term.
Mr. Amar, who is associated with Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) for the last three decades and served the organization as President and General Secretary, eminently deserves the position and in his first term, the Press Academy served the cause of working journalists in the state well by holding Round Tables and Seminars on current topics concerning the profession besides holding Training Classes in districts for rural journalists working for print and electronic media.
We are sure the Academy will continue to do good and useful work to enhance the skills of working journalists and fine-tune them to face the competition and promote ethical practices in the profession |
