VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists has demanded the Centre to immediately set up a media council, broadening the purview of the Press Council of India bringing under it the electronic media also along with the print media which it governed.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the two-day State council meeting of the APUWJ, affiliated to the Indian Journalists’ Union (IJU), secretary general of IJU K. Srinivas Reddy disclosed here on Monday. At present there was no statutory body to the electronic media.
